I haven’t posted here in a while but yesterday Mark reminded me about something I really enjoy doing and I figured I could write about it. It’s called Pitch-n-Putt and my favorite place to go is Green Lake Park. Those of you who play golf will know the term, but in case you don’t, it’s basically played the same as golf only the holes are much closer together so you only really need a pitching wedge and a putter – ergo the name. It’s a great way to learn how to play golf if you are starting out and the best part about it is that it’s only $7 for a round of nine holes. You can bring your own ball and clubs or you can rent them for $1.50 each and purchase a ball for $1. The Pitch-n-Putt place doesn’t have a homepage of its own since it’s part of Green Lake Park, but I found a good informational page here.

Highway 99 Blues Club
I’ve been to this place a few times and I’m always surprised I don’t go more often. It is a great live music joint that specializes in blues music, but I have heard some really good classic rock-style bands play here too. The place is tucked away under the Alaskan Way viaduct so it has a feel of a speakeasy but it’s also easy to miss. The Jambalaya and Gumbo are great here. Check them out. By the way, this is also the place where I first introduced Becky to my friends. She thought Mark was aloof.
